Health Social Welfare

Environmental health refers to the theory and practice of assessing and controlling factors in the environment that can potentially affect public health and the social and economic conditions that act as driving forces and put pressure on the environment.

This department focuses on hazard notification, risk assessment and management in the public health realm in an effort to prevent illness.

OBJECTIVES 

  • To promote compliance with all environmental, health and safety legislations that guide and regulate development and business within Manzini municipality and ensure protection of human life.
  • To improve, promote and protect public health, safety and social welfare of the people within the municipality.
  • To provide quality community-based care and support services that are accessible, affordable and equitable to the chronically ill people within the municipality.
  • To coordinate all HIV/AIDS initiatives undertaken within the municipality.
