The department is responsible for, among other things, the overall management of all persons employed by the municipal council; their people’s skills and development; implementation of human resources policies and legislation relating to employees’ welfare and operations of Council. The department also seeks to achieve workforce compliance with organizational goals, integrating the workforce, motivating them as well as facilitating their training to enhance their skills.
It is also in this department that labour issues are dealt with working hand in hand with the union and staff association. The department is grouped into two main activities:
- Personnel management.
- Industrial relations
Council’s workforce is currently divided into two: Salaried and Daily paid staff. We also have seasonal workers who are engaged on short term contracts.
